Privacy Policy

Overview

TourPods is an independent iOS app that plays narrated audio stories about the places around you. This policy describes what information the app and this website collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the service, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you create an account we store your email address (or, with Sign in with Apple, the identifier Apple provides) and a securely hashed credential.
• Location. With your permission, the app uses your device's location to find stories near you. Location is used to select stories and is not sold or shared with advertisers. You can also browse by dropping a pin instead of sharing your location.
• Listening activity. We record actions like plays, skips, and favorites so your feed improves, your free plays are counted correctly, and we can understand which stories work.
• Purchases. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We receive purchase validation data (such as transaction identifiers and subscription status) but never your payment details.

How we use information

We use the information above to operate the service: selecting nearby stories, personalizing your feed, enforcing free-play and subscription entitlements, fixing bugs, and improving story quality. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking networks.

Service providers

TourPods runs on cloud infrastructure providers that host our servers, database, and media storage. Story text and cover art are generated using AI providers; the prompts used for generation describe places, not you. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@tourpods.com, and we'll process the request promptly.

Children

TourPods is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
